Yonkers, New Rochelle, and White Plains ban all livestock. Rural towns including North Salem, Pound Ridge, Bedford, and Lewisboro permit horses and small livestock on 2+ acre lots. Chickens require coops set back 25 to 50 feet from property lines in most Westchester villages. Roosters prohibited in nearly all municipalities due to noise.
