Worcester County MA follows state law under MGL c. 94G, Β§7 allowing adults 21+ to cultivate up to 6 cannabis plants per person (12 per household with 2+ adults) at their primary residence. Personal cannabis cultivation in Worcester County is governed by MGL c. 94G, Β§7 and 935 CMR 500.000 (Cannabis Control Commission regulations). Adults 21 and older may grow up to 6 flowering plants per person with a maximum of 12 per household (regardless of how many adults reside there). Cultivation must occur at the primary residence and plants must be in an area equipped with a lock or security device. Plants cannot be visible from a public place, including from sidewalks or adjacent properties, without the use of binoculars, aircraft, or other optical aids. Harvest in excess of one ounce must be stored in a locked area. Worcester County towns such as Leicester, Dudley, and Webster have incorporated cultivation standards into zoning bylaws requiring odor control, ventilation, and restrictions on use of flammable solvents for extraction. MGL c. 94G, Β§13 prohibits manufacture using volatile or explosive substances (butane, propane) in residences. Landlords may prohibit cultivation in written leases. Commercial cultivation requires CCC licensure plus local Host Community Agreement.
Exceeding plant limits or visibility rules: civil fine $100 under MGL c. 94G, Β§13. Cultivation visible from public way: $300 fine and forfeiture of plants. BHO/butane extraction in residence: criminal charges under MGL c. 94G, Β§13(a)(4), up to $5,000 and/or 2 years. Unlicensed sale: felony under MGL c. 94C.
