Landlords may prohibit growing in rental properties under 410 ILCS 705/10-35. Patient cultivation must be disclosed to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Growing for unlicensed sale remains a felony regardless of patient status. The Illinois State Police and Lake County Sheriff investigate unauthorized grow operations, especially those generating odor complaints or suspicious electrical use.
