Street Parking Limits: Anza vs Palm Springs

On county-maintained roads in unincorporated Riverside County, the California Vehicle Code governs most street parking. The Board of Supervisors may adopt local restrictions through Ordinance 413 (traffic regulations) including no-parking zones, time limits, and permit-parking districts around schools and trailheads. Many rural roads have no curb or shoulder, so parking there must not obstruct traffic.

Palm Springs permits on-street parking on most residential streets unless signs or curb markings indicate otherwise. Palm Springs Municipal Code Chapter 12 establishes the 72-hour rule (no vehicle may remain stationary on a public street more than 72 hours), street-sweeping and event-based restrictions, and special permit zones in downtown and near the Convention Center and airport.
