Dibs & Space Saving: Corona vs Moreno Valley

Corona has no ordinance permitting residents to reserve or 'save' public parking spaces with cones, chairs, or other objects. Public streets are first-come, first-served, and placing obstructions in the public right-of-way is itself a code violation. The 'dibs' tradition does not apply in Southern California.

Moreno Valley has no ordinance addressing space-saving (dibs) on public streets. Placing cones, chairs, or other objects to reserve a street parking space is not recognized and may constitute an obstruction. Public streets remain first-come, first-served at all times.
