How loud can my backyard party be in Rialto?

Under RMC §9.50.030(A)(4) your amplified music cannot be plainly audible across the property line at any hour, plainly audible at 50 feet during the day (8 a.m.–10 p.m.), or plainly audible at 25 feet at night (10 p.m.–8 a.m.). For a city-permitted event there is an exemption under §9.50.060(C) — but a private home party does not qualify.

What happens if I get cited for blasting my car stereo?

Under RMC §9.50.040, a vehicle stereo plainly audible at 50 feet is a misdemeanor (not just an infraction) per §9.50.120. The officer may immediately confiscate and impound the stereo components as evidence, and may impound the vehicle itself if the components cannot be removed without damaging it. You have 7 calendar days to file a written request with the Rialto Police Department for return of confiscated property.

Can the city confiscate my speakers at a house party?
