Eagle County is a high wildfire-risk jurisdiction in the Colorado Rockies. Personal fireworks that explode or leave the ground are illegal statewide under CRS 24-33.5-2001, only ground-based items (fountains, sparklers, snakes) are 'permissible.' All personal fireworks are prohibited on BLM, USFS, and National Park lands and during Stage 1 or Stage 2 fire restrictions, which activate automatically on a Red Flag Warning in unincorporated Eagle County. The Town of Vail bans all personal fireworks year-round.
