Commercial drone operations in Norfolk County require an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate under 14 CFR Part 107. Operators must pass the FAA knowledge test and recertify every 24 months via online recurrent training. Much of northern Norfolk County (Quincy, Milton, Braintree, Weymouth, Hingham) falls within Logan International (KBOS) Class B airspace β LAANC authorization required, and some areas inside the 5-mile ring have 0-ft ceilings (no drones). Norwood Memorial (KOWD) Class D airspace affects Norwood, Westwood, Walpole. Part 107 waivers required for flights over people, at night without lighting, or beyond visual line of sight. Remote ID compliance mandatory as of September 2023.
