Fires must be contained in a non-combustible vessel, limited to approximately 3 feet in diameter, and burn only clean, dry, untreated wood. No garbage, construction debris, treated lumber, or yard waste may be burned. A clearance of at least 15 feet from structures and combustible materials is recommended. PDEQ no-burn days apply to recreational fires -- all outdoor burning is prohibited during declared no-burn periods. In WUI zones, additional restrictions may apply through local fire districts. The Northwest Fire District, Rincon Valley Fire District, and other districts serving unincorporated areas may impose seasonal or permanent fire restrictions during drought conditions. Propane and natural gas fire features are generally exempt from no-burn day restrictions as they do not produce particulate emissions. Water or a fire extinguisher must be readily available. Unattended fires are prohibited.
