Organized outdoor events on parks, stadiums, or fields are allowed 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in unincorporated Clackamas County. Permitted outdoor gatherings, dances, and shows are exempt; otherwise nighttime amplified outdoor music violates Code 6.05.040(B)(6).
Code 6.05.060(A) exempts sounds from organized athletic, religious, educational, civic, or racing activities on property used for such purposes between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Code 6.05.060(K) exempts outdoor gatherings, public dances, shows, and sporting events when a permit has been obtained or the County hosts them. Outside those exemptions, amplified outdoor music at night is restricted by 6.05.040(B)(6), and all outdoor sound remains subject to the 50/60 dBA caps. A noise variance under 6.05.070 can authorize a specific event.
Unpermitted late-night outdoor music is a per se violation citable by the Sheriff. Apply for a variance at least 10 business days ahead to hold a lawful event.
