Castle Rock bars parking any truck of 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight or more, plus trailers, semitrailers, truck tractors and farm tractors, on a public right-of-way in residential areas. The rule exists to keep large vehicles off neighborhood streets.
Castle Rock Municipal Code 10.16.010.A prohibits parking heavy or oversized vehicles, trucks of 10,000 lb GVW or more, trailers, utility trailers, semitrailers, truck tractors and farm tractors, on a residential-area right-of-way. Chapter 10.16's legislative declaration states its intent is to prevent large vehicles from remaining parked on public rights-of-way in residential areas for extended periods. Limited exceptions apply for active loading, unloading and rendering services, and for on-duty emergency vehicles. In unincorporated urban areas, the county's 2025 ordinance layers on its own oversized/RV road limits.
Castle Rock minimum fines are $100 (first offense), $250 (second within 12 months) and $500 (third or subsequent). Violations are treated as traffic infractions.
