Tulare, CA Parking Rules: Oversized Vehicle Parking (2026)

Tulare County's Ordinance Code does not impose a general dimensional cap (height or length) on parking oversized non-commercial vehicles on unincorporated streets. The closest size-based rule is Section 3-03-1015, which makes it unlawful to stop, park, or leave standing any commercial vehicle (as defined in California Vehicle Code Section 260) with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more on streets posted with signs giving notice of the restriction. That restriction applies only where the Board of Supervisors has adopted a resolution and the Director of Transportation has signed or marked the road; it can limit parking by area, duration, or hours (Ord. No. 3561, effective 06-20-19). Exceptions for deliveries, permitted construction, and utility or County work are listed in Section 3-03-1020. For all oversized vehicles regardless of weight, Section 3-03-1000 limits street storage to under 72 consecutive hours, after which removal is authorized under California Vehicle Code Section 22651. Oversized loads moving on county roads are separately handled through transportation permits issued by the RMA. Storage of large vehicles on private property is governed by the County Zoning Ordinance.
