Residential garage sales are allowed without a city permit. Sales are generally limited to three per year per address and should last no more than three consecutive days each. Sales should not cause traffic congestion, excessive noise, or parking problems in the neighborhood. Commercial-scale sales operating regularly from a residence may be considered a home business requiring a separate permit.
Exceeding the frequency limit or conducting commercial-scale sales from a residence may trigger home business zoning enforcement. Signs left up after the sale or placed in the right-of-way may be removed. Noise and parking complaints may be addressed through standard code enforcement.
