Harrison County property maintenance code requires garage sale items be removed from view after sale hours. Gulfport and Biloxi enforce blight rules against clutter. Signs must come down within 24 hours.
Harrison County property maintenance ordinances apply to yard and garage sales to prevent accumulation of visible clutter. Merchandise, tables, racks, and tarps must be stored out of public view or inside the home/garage at the end of each sale day. Unsold items cannot be left at the curb between sale days or after the sale concludes. Gulfport Code Chapter 14 and Biloxi Chapter 11 both treat persistent visible accumulation as property blight. Signs placed in yards or along roadways must be removed within 24 hours of the sale ending; signs in the public right-of-way can be removed immediately by city crews without notice. Properties that run back-to-back yard sales every weekend may be cited for operating an unlicensed retail business under MS Code Β§27-17.
Items left at curb after sale: Gulfport blight citation $50-$200. Signs not removed within 24 hours: $25-$50 per sign. Pattern of weekly sales: unlicensed retail, $100-$500 + business license required.
