NH RSA 143-A and NH DHHS rules require each Manchester food establishment to have a certified food protection manager on staff. Manchester does not require a separate per-employee handler card like California, but managers must hold ANSI-accredited certification.
Under NH RSA 143-A and He-P 2300, every food service establishment in Manchester must employ at least one Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) holding an ANSI-CFP accredited certification, such as ServSafe Manager. The certification is valid for five years. Unlike California, NH does not mandate that all individual food handlers carry a separate handler card. The Manchester Health Department checks CFPM credentials during routine inspection. A copy of the certificate must be kept on premises. Establishments without a current CFPM after notice face Chapter 150 enforcement, including possible permit suspension.
Operating without a Certified Food Protection Manager on staff after written notice, expired certifications, or refusal to produce certificates during inspection trigger Chapter 150 fines and permit risk.
