Georgia Polystyrene Foam Containers Without State Ban

Georgia law does not prohibit expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam food containers at the state level. General solid waste management rules under Title 12, Chapter 8, govern collection and disposal but do not target polystyrene specifically. Restaurants, schools, and food vendors commonly use foam packaging. Some private institutions and municipalities have adopted voluntary phase-outs, but enforceable state mandates do not exist. Federal Clean Water Act and state water quality rules remain applicable to litter and stormwater impacts.

No statewide foam-ban penalties exist; littering and water quality offenses apply under separate statutes.
