Montana Short-Term Rental Insurance Disclosure Requirements

Montana Title 33 governs insurance practices and requires that any commercial use of residential property be disclosed to the insurer. While Montana has not enacted an STR-specific insurance mandate at the state level, hosting platforms operating in Montana typically provide host protection programs, and the Office of the Commissioner of Securities and Insurance has issued guidance that homeowner insurance generally does not cover transient lodging.
