Nebraska Wildlife Baiting and Big Game Feeding Rules

Under Title 4 of the Nebraska Administrative Code (Game and Parks wildlife regulations) and authority granted by Neb. Rev. Stat. chapter 37, it is illegal to establish a baited area beginning ten days before any big game or turkey season opens and through the entire season. A baited area means any location where grain, fruit, vegetables, hay, salt, minerals, or other natural or commercial food materials are placed to attract big game or turkey. Hunters cannot take game within 200 yards of bait on commonly owned land. An area remains baited for ten days after complete bait removal. Standard agricultural and forestry practices are excluded.

Violations are charged under chapter 37 game law penalties, typically misdemeanor fines, hunting privilege revocation, and confiscation of game and equipment.
