West Virginia Statewide Rule
West Virginia has no statewide rent control and no statute that expressly bans or authorizes local rent control, so the question is not directly addressed in state law. No West Virginia city or county currently has a rent-control ordinance, and the state landlord-tenant code, W. Va. Code Chapter 37, places no cap on the amount of a rent increase.
