Wyoming Predictive Scheduling Preemption Posture

Wyoming statutes do not include predictive scheduling, secure scheduling, or fair workweek requirements that exist in other jurisdictions. The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services administers wage payment and labor standards under Title 27, but neither requires advance posting of schedules nor predictability pay. Local governments lack authority to impose scheduling mandates on private employers given the state's general preemption of wage and labor standards. Employers must still comply with federal overtime, recordkeeping, and child-labor scheduling restrictions.

No state penalties exist for short-notice scheduling; federal Fair Labor Standards Act violations regarding overtime and minor work hours remain enforceable through DOL Wage and Hour Division.
