Wyoming Polystyrene Foam Container Policy

Wyoming statutes do not address polystyrene (Styrofoam) food containers, cups, or coolers, and no state preemption prevents municipalities from regulating their use. Food-service operators must comply with Wyoming Department of Agriculture food safety rules and Department of Environmental Quality solid waste rules, but no specific foam ban is in place. A few Wyoming communities have considered voluntary reduction programs, while most rely on consumer choice. Federal FDA approval covers polystyrene as a food-contact material.
