Wyoming Plastic Straw Regulation Status

Wyoming has not enacted any law banning, restricting, or requiring upon-request service of plastic straws. Food-service establishments may freely provide plastic straws subject to general food safety, waste handling, and litter rules administered by state agencies. There is no state preemption of local regulation, so a Wyoming municipality could in principle adopt a straws-on-request ordinance, although none have done so widely. Disability advocates have urged that any local rule preserve access to plastic straws for individuals who need them.

No state penalties apply to plastic straw use; local ordinances, if enacted, typically impose civil fines on the food-service business rather than the consumer.
