Lincoln addresses pest control through its nuisance and health and sanitation provisions in LMC Title 8. Chapter 8.26 (Nuisances) empowers the city to declare conditions that harbor pests as public nuisances subject to abatement. Chapter 8.46 (Weed Abatement) requires property owners to control excessive vegetation that attracts rodents and insects. Chapter 8.02 covers general health and safety hazards including pest-related conditions. Property owners are responsible for maintaining premises free of conditions that attract or harbor vermin.
