At least 48 inches tall from the outside, with gaps no more than 4 inches between verticals and 2 inches at the ground. Some installations require 60 inches under the Southern Nevada Amendments.
Do the house doors to my backyard count?
If the house wall is part of the pool barrier, exterior doors must have an approved pool alarm or a self-closing, self-latching safety device under IRC Appendix G.
