Lincoln FAQ

Can Lincoln deny my garage-to-ADU conversion?

Generally no. California Government Code §65852.2 requires ministerial (non-discretionary) approval of a conversion ADU within an existing structure if it meets state objective standards. Do I need to add replacement parking after converting my garage?

No. Under Gov. Code §65852.2(a)(1)(D)(xi), when a garage, carport, or covered parking structure is demolished or converted to create an ADU, the City may not require replacement off-street parking for the displaced spaces.
