Prince George's County parks are operated by M-NCPPC and patrolled by the Maryland-National Capital Park Police. Under the M-NCPPC Park Rules and Regulations (Chapter III, Section 2, Hours of Operation), park property and facilities are open daily to the public from sunrise to sunset, except that a Park Directive may set alternate hours, parkways remain open 24 hours a day for transient motor vehicle traffic only, and paved trails remain open between 5:00 a.m. and 12 midnight for transient bicycle traffic only, unless posted otherwise. Being on park property outside posted hours is an unauthorized presence subject to enforcement. Lighted athletic fields may extend hours by permit. Visitors should obey posted signs, which control where hours differ.
Remaining in an M-NCPPC park after sunset (outside posted or permitted hours), or on a trail after midnight, is unauthorized presence and can result in a citation, fine, or ejection by the Park Police.
