Industrial zones (M-L, M-1, M-2, M) allow 90 dBA from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 80 dBA from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Crucially, the same table's residential limits also govern noise reaching any legal residence, measured at the residential yard boundary: 65 dBA (7 a.m.-7 p.m.), 60 dBA (7 p.m.-10 p.m.), and 55 dBA (10 p.m.-7 a.m.). Limits apply at the property line of the source or receiving parcel, so a data center's chillers, cooling fans, and generator testing near homes are held to the tighter residential figures. Violations draw administrative citations under Chapter 1.20.
Noise exceeding the Table 1 limit for the receiving property is a code violation. An enforcement officer may issue an administrative citation under Chapter 1.20; continued violations bring escalating fines and permit-condition enforcement, including use-permit revocation.
