Selma, CA Drone Rules: Commercial Drones (2026)

The City of Selma has not adopted local regulations for commercial unmanned aircraft operations. All commercial drone flights within Selma are governed by FAA Part 107, which requires pilots to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate by passing the FAA Aeronautical Knowledge Test. Part 107 rules require flights during daylight or civil twilight with anti-collision lighting, maximum altitude of 400 feet above ground level, visual line of sight, no flight over people without a waiver or compliant drone category, and yield to manned aircraft. Given Selma proximity to Fresno Yosemite International Airport, commercial operators should check airspace classifications and obtain LAANC authorization as needed.
