The Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, codified at CRS 8-13.3-401 et seq., requires employers to provide one hour of paid sick leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year. The Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance program (FAMLI), under CRS 8-13.3-501, provides up to 12 weeks of partial wage replacement funded by employer and employee premiums. Local governments may adopt additional leave protections. Both programs apply to most public and private employers regardless of size with limited exceptions.
