Section 412 of the Horry County Zoning Ordinance sets the baseline requirements for all fences and walls. Section 412.B.5 requires that all fences or walls be designed to permit emergency access to the enclosed area, whether by a gate or a breakaway section. Section 412.A bars any fence or wall designed to obstruct the vision of vehicular traffic at street and/or driveway intersections, protecting the sight triangle. Privacy fences in front or corner side yards must meet the ten-foot setback from rights-of-way (Section 412.B.4.a), and heights follow the eight-/twelve-foot ceilings.
