West Fargo Section 4-441 limits front-yard fences to 2 ft 6 in (4 ft if open-style with 50%+ visibility). Side and rear yard fences may reach 6 ft. Corner-lot vision triangles must remain clear between 2 ft 6 in and 10 ft heights.
Per West Fargo City Ordinance Section 4-441, fences along the sides and front edge of any required front yard are limited to a maximum of 2 feet 6 inches in height. An exception allows open fences (split rail or chain link without privacy slats) that permit direct vision through at least 50% of the fence surface area to reach a maximum of 4 feet. Fences along the edges of the required side and rear yards may be a maximum of 6 feet in height. All fencing and screening must meet visibility requirements at intersections by not impeding vision between heights of 2 feet 6 inches and 10 feet within 30 feet from intersecting curb lines, or within 20 feet from intersecting property lines. Building permits are administered by the West Fargo Inspections Department.
