Under Snohomish County's home occupation rules, a home occupation conducted within the residence itself does not require a certificate of occupancy from Planning & Development Services. A home occupation in a garage or accessory building does require a certificate of occupancy to confirm building and fire code compliance, and it is subject to annual inspection and renewal under SCC 30.53A.361.
