A use that needs to exceed these limits β for example, a non-resident employee or more visible operation β requires an Expanded Home Occupation Permit, which must be approved by the Planning Commission at a public hearing. Because these are the County's own standards for the unincorporated areas, they apply countywide outside the incorporated Town of Mammoth Lakes, which administers its own code.
Operating a home business without a business license, exceeding the Section 04.290 limits (outside employees, outdoor storage, excess traffic, structural alterations, or visible commercial activity), or operating an expanded use without the required permit can lead to code-compliance enforcement and orders to cease the activity.
