IC 5-2-18.2 prohibits any governmental body or postsecondary educational institution in Indiana from enacting or enforcing an ordinance, resolution, rule, or policy that limits or restricts the enforcement of federal immigration laws. The statute effectively bars sanctuary city, sanctuary county, and sanctuary campus policies statewide.
Noncompliant policies are unenforceable; courts must order compliance and may award costs in actions brought by lawful residents under IC 5-2-18.2-5.
