Hillsborough County Code Enforcement administers the overgrowth standard under the Land Development Code Part 1.03.00 and Chapter 8 nuisance provisions. Improved residential and commercial parcels must have grass cut to under 18 inches, and platted vacant lots must be mowed at least three times per year. Parcels zoned Agricultural Rural or Agricultural-Single-Family engaged in bona fide agriculture under FL 193.461 Greenbelt classification are exempt, which covers most Plant City strawberry fields and eastern ranch lands.
