On industrial receiving property the county allows 85 dB(A) daytime and 80 dB(A) nighttime. Noise inside the Galt City Industrial Zone is fully exempt from the ordinance. Limits are measured at the receiving property line on an A-weighted meter.
Industrial property has the highest thresholds in the Sec. 14-171(a) table: 85 dB(A) from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 80 dB(A) from 9:01 p.m. to 6:59 a.m., measured at the receiving industrial property line. Section 14-172(10) specifically exempts noise generated within the Galt City Industrial Zone (described in Exhibit A of the originating ordinance) from the article entirely. Backup emergency generators during an outage or declared emergency, and pool/dewatering pumps in good working order, are also exempt. Public-service and utility work is exempt too. Applies only to unincorporated Santa Rosa County.
Exceeding the industrial limits is a $100 noise-level violation, doubling then tripling for repeat same-offense violations (up to 60 days jail on a third), with each calendar day a separate offense.
