Lake County has no separate leaf-blower ordinance. Gas leaf blowers fall under the general excessive-noise rule (Sec. 14-34); early-morning or evening blowing near homes can be cited if it disturbs neighbors. Normal daytime lawn care is generally allowed.
The county sets no dedicated leaf-blower time, decibel or ban rule. Leaf-blower noise is governed by the general excessive-noise standard in Sec. 14-34, which weighs level, duration, zoning, proximity to sleeping facilities and time of day. Note the construction-hours limit (Sec. 14-35) applies to construction and demolition tools, not routine yard maintenance, and sounds from normal agricultural activities in appropriate zoning are exempt (Sec. 14-37(9)). Practically, a leaf blower run at reasonable daytime hours is fine, while pre-dawn blowing beside a bedroom window can be treated as excessive noise. Incorporated cities may impose their own leaf-blower limits.
Only enforceable as excessive noise: uncontested $150 first citation, $300 repeat, up to $500 by the court, after a warning for criminal action.
