Showing ordinances that apply to Nelson, NV
Nelson is an unincorporated community (population 22) in Clark County, Nevada. Because Nelson is not an incorporated city, it does not have its own municipal code. Instead, Clark County ordinances apply directly to properties here. The leaf blower rules rules below are the ones that govern your area.
Unincorporated Clark County has no gas leaf blower ban. Lawn maintenance is exempt from Title 30 daytime decibel limits if equipment is in good order. Nuisance use can still be cited under Title 14.
Clark County Code Title 30 Section 30.68.020(h) exempts lawn maintenance and home repair from residential decibel standards during daytime hours so long as equipment is maintained in proper working condition. Unlike many California jurisdictions, Clark County has NOT banned gas-powered leaf blowers and does not impose a specific decibel cap on landscaping equipment at the property line. Early-morning leaf blowing before 6 AM or after 10 PM is effectively restricted because Code Enforcement responds to residential noise complaints in that window. Title 14 Section 14.55.020 nuisance provisions still apply: a leaf blower operated in a manner physically annoying to persons of ordinary sensitivity (for example, repeatedly blowing directly at a neighbor property or running for hours at a fence line) can still draw a nuisance citation even during daytime hours. HOAs in Summerlin South, Enterprise, and other master-planned communities frequently impose stricter leaf blower schedules than county rules. Dust from leaf blowers is also indirectly regulated by Clark County Regulation 41 PM-10 dust controls.
Operating outside 6 AM-10 PM: Code Enforcement citation. Nuisance operation: Title 14 Section 14.55.020 citation. Broken equipment: separate Title 30 violation.
