The county sets no outdoor-music rule. Cities and townships do. Cincinnati even carves out an exception for one or two unamplified street musicians during set daytime and evening hours, but amplified or late outdoor music must respect residential sound limits.
Outdoor performances, patio music, and backyard concerts are governed locally, not by Hamilton County. Cincinnati's Chapter 909 permits one or two street musicians on unamplified instruments during limited windows (11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m.) for up to 90 minutes at a single location, provided they keep set distances from crosswalks, vendors, and open markets. Beyond that carve-out, outdoor music, especially amplified, is judged against the district dB(A) tables and the general loud-noise prohibition. Townships may add rules for D-permit patios under ORC 505.172. Requirements vary by community and zoning.
Outside the street-musician exception, Cincinnati treats disturbing outdoor music as a loud-noise violation: minor misdemeanor, escalating to fourth-degree misdemeanor on a third offense within a year.
