Solid privacy fences (wood, vinyl, composite) are allowed; materials must comply with fire-resistance requirements in Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones. Building a fence exceeding height limits without a permit may result in a notice of violation, required removal or modification, and potential fines. Double permit fees may apply for work done without permits.
