Unincorporated Forsyth County has no general grass-height ordinance. The county's weed rule appears only in its junk-vehicle code: a heavy growth of weeds or other noxious vegetation over eight inches in height around a vehicle helps make it a health or safety hazard.
Forsyth County does not adopt a citywide-style tall-grass or weed-abatement ordinance for private unincorporated land; the code enforcement office explicitly does not take general overgrowth or trash complaints. The only quotable county weed threshold is in Chapter 11: a motor vehicle is a health or safety hazard when it is at a point of heavy growth of weeds or other noxious vegetation over eight inches in height (Sec. 11-2(a)(2)). Inside Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Clemmons and other towns, the municipality sets and enforces grass and weed limits.
Where a junked vehicle plus overgrowth creates a hazard, it is a class 3 misdemeanor, up to $500, each day a separate offense (Sec. 11-3.1). No standalone county penalty exists for grass height alone.
