For land use, the Zoning Code (Chapter 1500) contains the county's general off-street parking standards that apply to the underlying residential or agricultural use of the property; a dwelling used for short-term rental remains subject to those generally applicable parking requirements rather than to any STR-specific minimum or on-street parking restriction. The county does not require a fixed number of off-street spaces tied to STR bedrooms because 'short-term rental' is not a defined zoning use. On-street parking, blocked roadways, and abandoned or oversized vehicles are handled under the county's road, traffic, and nuisance provisions and the California Vehicle Code rather than under any rental-specific rule. Operators in unincorporated subdivisions should also check any private CC&Rs or HOA rules, which the county does not enforce.
