Pasco County regulates garage/yard sale signs as temporary signs under LDC Chapter 504. Signs are limited to approximately 4 to 6 square feet and may be placed only on private property with the owner's consent. A small number of off-premises directional signs (usually 2 to 4) may be allowed on other private properties with permission, but placement in the public right-of-way, on traffic signs, on utility poles, or stapled to trees in the ROW is strictly prohibited. County code enforcement and Public Works routinely remove non-compliant signs, particularly along collector roads (SR 54, SR 52, US 19, Little Rd). Signs may be posted no earlier than 48 hours before the sale and must be removed within 24 hours after. Some community associations separately require a garage sale permit or limit frequency (typically no more than 2-4 sales per year per household). FDOT regulates state highway right-of-way separately and removes signs aggressively.
