Town of Gilbert (2015) bars content-based sign rules. The residential provision is therefore effectively unenforceable against a homeowner's yard sign. Signs on public property, utility poles, and trees remain prohibited, and the ordinance does not apply in the Central Business District.
Under Section 11:00, each day a prohibited sign remains is a separate offense, with fines set by Inspectional Services. A homeowner's political yard sign is protected speech; signs on poles, trees, or public property may be removed.
