Las Vegas has not adopted a plastic straw ban or upon-request rule. Restaurants and bars may freely provide single-use plastic straws, though many Strip resorts and chains voluntarily switched to paper or compostable alternatives.
The Las Vegas Municipal Code contains no provision restricting plastic straws, and Nevada has not enacted a state law on the topic. Restaurants and bars in the city are free to choose any straw type. On the Strip, several resorts in unincorporated Clark County voluntarily switched to paper, agave, or PLA-based straws as part of corporate sustainability programs, and city restaurants often follow suit. Customers may still request and receive plastic straws on request without restriction in Las Vegas city limits.
There is no straw-specific enforcement, but littering of straws is a Title 9 nuisance violation, and food-establishment sanitation rules still apply to dispensing and storage.
