Solicitation means a verbal or non-verbal sign-based request for an immediate donation of money, food, cigarettes, or items of value. Prohibited places include any bus stop, transportation vehicle/facility, vehicle on the street, ATMs, bank parking lots, within 14 ft of a building or fence abutting a sidewalk, within 14 ft of street corners or open-air dining, and other listed locations. Charity 'spare change' boxes and street performers are excluded from definition.
Infractions; repeated violations may be charged as misdemeanors under §9.10.060.
