Georgia Code Β§27-5-4 prohibits possession of Class 1 wild animals without a wild animal license from Georgia DNR. Class 1 includes lions, tigers, bears, wolves, primates, venomous snakes, crocodilians, and kangaroos. Licenses are generally issued only to USDA-licensed exhibitors, zoos, and research facilities. Suwanee Code Chapter 10 further restricts keeping of dangerous animals. Common pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, small reptiles, birds, ferrets) are allowed.
