No. JVMC 4.15.020(A) makes it unlawful to rent a dwelling in whole or in part for less than 30 consecutive days for compensation. The host's presence during the stay does not create an exception.
Is a roommate or month-to-month lodger still legal?
Yes. The prohibition applies only to stays of less than 30 consecutive days. Renting a room for 30 days or longer is an ordinary tenancy outside Chapter 4.15.
