Can I shoot off fireworks I bought in Nevada?
No. Only California State Fire Marshal Safe and Sane-labeled fireworks purchased from a licensed Oakley stand may be used. Out-of-state, aerial, and exploding fireworks are illegal regardless of where purchased, and possession alone can result in a $1,000 fine.
Are fireworks legal outside the July 4 window?
No. Even Safe and Sane fireworks may only be discharged during the dates specified by ordinance (roughly June 28 through July 4). Discharging at New Year's, birthdays, or other times is prohibited.
