Santa Ana FAQ
Can I take the cash and stay?
Tenants may rescind within 30 days of signing without penalty. After rescission you keep your tenancy and any payment already received generally must be returned to the landlord.
Must I accept a buyout offer?
No. Buyouts are voluntary. Refusing to accept does not give the landlord any new ground to evict you, and retaliation for refusing is prohibited under Santa Ana's tenant protections.
